Soil Injections

Schulhoff Tree and Lawn Care utilizes soil injections as one way to perform specific insect control, such as aphids and the Elm Bark Beetle. This is a system in which the product is injected into the soil around a tree, or directly into a tree. The product will disperse around the tree and the insects will then feed on it.

Inspect and Treat Program

Inspect and treat programs are offered up to 3 times a year during the growing season. During our visit, we will inspect and treat plant material that has leaf feeding insects such as aphids, caterpillars, mites, and leaf hoppers.

Ips Engraver Beetle

The Ips Engraver Beetle is a very damaging urban and mountain insect. These beetles are throughout the metro area and are killing off many key large pines and spruce. With the hard drought years ago, our pines and spruce became extremely stressed, attracting these beetles.

Emerald Ash Borer

The Emerald Ash Borer is a pest that should not be taken lightly. It was found in Boulder County in the fall of 2013, but they are native to Eastern Asia. They have also been sighted in Michigan, Ohio and Illinois.

Japanese Beetle

There have been localized infestations of the Japanese Beetle in across Colorado. The question to ask is will they find your landscape and call it home? Become familiar with this enemy pest and be ready.

Grubs

If you are wondering what is going on with your lawn, it’s looking terrible with patches of dead turf, consider grub infestation. If you notice some white grub damage in your lawn we have some possible solutions.

Scale

Scale affects a variety of trees. The insect adheres itself to the tree branch or needles and feeds on the nutrients and water of the plant. There are two families of scales out here.

Mountain Pine Beetle

Mountain Pine Beetles can devastate a forest, killing all trees in the area. Forest thinning and preventative spraying are the best ways to help control the spread. Schulhoff has been dealing with this insect extensively over many years and can help you put together a program to help protect your forest.

Elm Tree Problems

American Elm Preservation and control of the Dutch Elm Disease are vitally important if we are to protect and control the population of American and Dutch Elms in the Denver area. If you know of any of these majestic trees in your area, be sure to check them for an Elm Bark Beetle infestation.
